- The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the mpox outbreak in Africa a severe global health threat. The WHO recommends that countries increase their efforts to monitor the spread of the virus, provide better healthcare for those infected, communicate effectively about the risks and work with international experts. - The report titled 'Creating an Environment of Trust and Responsible AI Adoption and Use' from the Digital Health Society and the European Institute for Innovation Through Health Data presents the findings and recommendations from last year's round table. It highlights the potential benefits of AI in healthcare while emphasizing the need for trust, transparency and ethical considerations. The recommendations include strengthening AI governance, improving stakeholder communication and promoting European AI policy in healthcare and clinical research. Read More
- South Korea aims to centralize electronic health records (EHR) on a single platform called My Healthway. This platform will give South Koreans access to health records from different healthcare facilities in a standard format. Healthcare providers can also access these records with the patient's consent. Currently, 860 health institutions are connected to My Healthway and 144 more will join next month. Read More
- Healthcare Denmark, a non-profit group, released a detailed study about Denmark's digital healthcare. The report focused on three key areas: how health data is gathered and shared, technologies that help patients and tools that save healthcare professionals’ time. - In Rabat, Morocco’s Minister of Health, Khalid Aït Taleb and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Health, Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at improving healthcare quality, patient safety and pandemic response. The agreement prioritizes early detection, preventive and therapeutic medicine, digital health, control measures, population health improvement and collaboration in blood transfusion services. This partnership will enable the exchange of information and expertise, as well as expert visits, conferences and health training.
