Overall, this OECD report assists countries in benchmarking AI policy development in healthcare, enhancing knowledge sharing and monitoring successful learning practices and effective responses. - The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT's (ONC) recent study, ‘Interoperable Exchange of Patient Health Information Among US Hospitals: 2023,’ indicates advancements and persisting challenges in electronic health information sharing among US hospitals. According to the report, the proportion of hospitals regularly exchanging all essential data types has risen from 28% in 2018 to 43% in 2023. While most hospitals can electronically transmit data, only 75% can effectively integrate received data into their systems. Read More
- The Australia Productivity Commission's report on digital technology in healthcare highlights challenges facing the country's My Health Record (MHR) System despite its potential for $3.8 billion in annual savings. Despite a $1.3 billion investment, incomplete records persist. The report’s upgrade recommendations include improving user interfaces, enhancing workflow integration and incentivizing software providers. - The Health Information Standards Organisation (HISO) aims to establish national healthcare interoperability standards by implementing 'Core Data for Interoperability' in New Zealand. - In response to a strike by approximately 10,000 junior emergency doctors since February, South Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare has launched a $17 million project to develop an AI-driven clinical decision-support system.
